Derald Lee Wood of Toppenish, Washington passed away at home with family, at the age of forty-four, on Saturday, June 27, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. Derald is survived by his Parents - Levota and Frank Baehr, Gerald and Esther Wood, Sisters - Bonnie (Floyd) Davis, Leona (Brett) Reinhardt, Teresa (Steve) Kooken, Brothers - Darren (Barbara) Wood, Rob (Robbie) Harris, Doug Harris, Mark (Gayle) Harris, Brian Harris, and the love of his life Carmen Berry and children he called his own, Michael, Philip, Joshua, Michelle and grandchildren. Derald is preceded in death by his sister Lisa Harris and grandparents. Derald enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved fishing, camping, baking, working on cars, being at the racetrack and singing karaoke. Derald was warm, caring and had a gentle soul. He was an amazing and loyal friend. His personality was larger than life and his heart was generous beyond compare. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to others. A companion, a son, a brother to all and all that loved and treasured him. Those who loved him will forever hold him in their hearts. A gathering for family and friends will be held at The Wood Residence, 10563 Ashue Road, Toppenish, WA 98948 on Saturday, July 11th 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A second gathering will be held on Saturday July 25th 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Covington Community Church, 17455 SE Wax Road, Covington, Washington 98042.
